We've developed a program to help youth develop transferable skills that will be valuable to them no matter what they become. This is a future proof education program designed to help youth reach their potential, regardless of what path they choose.
In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and rapid progress, we believe the following remain true:
1. Humans are inherently designed to learn, grow, and develop. Learning entails forging new neural pathways in the brain—work technology cannot do for us.
2. Learning about and practicing journalism helps develop extremely valuable skills that AI cannot replace.
2. Journalism and an informed citizenry is vital to a thriving democratic society and can play a role in fostering community and unity.
Our mission is to empower youth with opportunities to enhance their education, develop essential skills, earn income, and bolster their college and career resumes, while also providing communities with meaningful, off-screen avenues for receiving community news and information.
We Teach
We offer a course teaching youth about journalism and responsible news consumption. We teach them about the role of journalism in our society and help them develop skills including observing (reporting), analyzing (understanding all sides), interpersonal skills (interviewing), and writing.
We Publish
As we get enough youth graduated from our course, we will begin issuing a semi-monthly periodical, written by our graduates and delivered via the postal system. It provides youth a means of earning money for their future, practicing important skills they learned in our course, and developing their portfolio for their college and career. It also provides you a front row seat to community news and information as well as the development of the rising generation.

After taking the course, youth can submit articles for publication in the The Rising Gazette, which is a semi-monthly
periodical. Information on how to submit articles will be given at the end of the course.
We set aside a portion of our subscription revenue to payout to our youth reporters, giving youth a way to earn money and save for their futures while developing their skills.
